Promoted by the NBS Brazil Alliance, the Brazilian Climate and Carbon Conference is an event that brings together professionals and experts from the sector, academics and government representatives that are interested in discussing climate issues and opportunities in the carbon market. The event will bring together national and international specialists to discuss three mais axes: climate, carbon market (regulated and voluntary) and prospects for COP 29 in Azerbaijan. Brazilian Climate & Carbon Conference (BCCC)
Perspectives for the Future of the Carbon Market in Brazil
OCTOBER 15 & 16
2024
Santander Theater
são paulo, brazil
Program Overview
The world faces urgent challenges related to climate change, and Brazil plays a key role in this scenario, mainly due to the fact that most of Brazilian emissions come from the conversion of land use, from forest to agriculture and livestock activities. With the growing importance of the carbon market and its imminent regulation in Brazil, it is fundamental to discuss strategies to reduce emissions, as well as to guarantee the viability of forest carbon projects, addressing the difficulties and challenges present in the region. In this sense, the Brazilian Climate and Carbon Conference seeks to provide a space for dialogue and learning to promote concrete actions and innovative solutions so that the carbon market can continue to contribute to the fight against climate change and to achieve the goals established in the Paris Agreement (2015).
