In light of the news about the Brazilian Federal Police’s Greenwashing Operation, the NBS Brazil Alliance expresses its full support for the measures adopted by the authorities to prevent and combat irregularities.
Without prejudging those involved, who have the right to a full defense, the organizations that are part of the Alliance find themselves harmed by the bad practices observed in the complex land ecosystem, illegal logging, and the relationships between the public and private sectors in the Amazon.
Integrity is central to the voluntary carbon market, and we feel that it is necessary to clean up this sector to distinguish those who operate with honesty from those who neglect compliance standards, good practices, and national laws.
